If It Ain't Broke... Don't Fix It!

That's what my grandaddy used to say...
"If it ain't broke... don't fix it!"

Shoulda heeded his wise words.
I switched a year ago from Blogger to Wordpress, thinking I NEEDED to do so in order to grow my blog.

Blogger is where I need to be... it's easier for me.

There were some wonderful things about Wordpress, but I simply don't have the time to learn the technical parts of Wordpress - I have a three year old, y'all!

Keep. It. Simple.

That's my motto!

So, as I'm switchin' things up, please be patient with me.
Hopefully, after a little house keeping is done, it'll be like I never left the place.

You can still find me at www.stringtownhome.net, it'll just look a tad different.

  1. I was thinking of switching from Blogger too, but worried about just what you are saying!

    1. I don't think that Wordpress is horrible, but it does require a lot of knowledge in coding, and tech applications that I just don't know... ha! I'm a basic and easy kinda girl. I like Blogger, because it is so easy to use. There are some beautiful Wordpress blogs, and that's what I was shooting for, but there was no way to achieve it without the knowledge to work it, or the funds to hire a guru. I'm gonna stick with simple, for now. I don't want to discourage you from trying Wordpress. I just don't think it's for me. One thing that I didn't do, that was suggested by another blogger who had made the transition, was to create a "dummy" blog - one that you just get on and practice with the plugins, layout, etc., til you get the look that you're going for... then your readers aren't subjected to the mess, and trying to navigate your site while you're trying to figure out WP... You may switch and love it! :)

  2. I'm a super simple girl too but I've played around enough with WP to finally understand how it works {a little bit}. It took me an entire week but I totally redesigned my look without paying anyone to do it for me. Wahoo!
