Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. - Restaurant Review

Did you catch my recent post about our quick trip to Galveston & the Kemah Boardwalk?

When we were at the boardwalk, we stopped by Bubba Gump Shrimp Co to eat lunch.

We've heard wonderful things about it, and we had a coupon, so we figured... why not?!

((The photo above was taken of the view from our table.  We were able to sit, eat and watch boats come in to the bay... it was lovely!))

For an appetizer (sorry, no pic) we had the artichoke dip.
Honestly, it was comparable to most artichoke dips that you get at chain restaurants... nothing special.

The hubby ordered a shrimp pot (basically, it was a low country boil), and he was sorely disappointed.

The shrimp was flavorless, and the sausage was so spicy it was hard to eat.

Had it been only for our appetizer or his meal, we would have considered this trip a flop....
BUT - my meal was over. the. top. delicious.

I ordered the "Jenny's Catch With Lobster Butter Sauce".

It is mashed potatoes, topped with steamed spinach leaves, and completed with a layer of tilapia - all drizzled with the yummiest lobster butter sauce.

Honestly, I am scouring the internet for a copycat recipe, because it was that good.

With that being said -

If you ever find yourself at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.,

Jenny's Catch = 5 stars!!

The rest of our meal.... 2 thumbs down....

Have you ever eaten at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.?
If so, what was your experience like?

Happy Wednesday, y'all!

  1. Girl is there anything you are NOT good at? I think maybe not. Great Post! I appreciate your honesty and your photo and personal feedback on your own meal redeemed you with the restaurant owners ..lol. Perhaps b/c of those comments they might improve the appetizer and may discover their chef is SEASONING/or Not and NOT TASTING his/her own food Good Job! If I were close by I would def go there and "have what she had"-
