Friday Favorites...

Happy Friday, y'all!

I thought it would be fun to start sharing some of my favorite finds of the week, and answer a few fun questions, every Friday.  If you would like to join in, copy and paste the questions into a post, and answer them yourself.  Be sure to come back and post the link to your Friday Favorites (in the comment section, below), so that I can come check out what is going on in your world!  FUN!

Questions:

What is happening around you, right now?
What are your weekend plans?
What is growing in your garden?
What recipes are you planning to make this weekend?
What made you smile this week?

1 - Around me - The little one is watching Inspector Gadget, while I work on the computer.
2 - Weekend plans - This weekend, we plan to be home.  (That never seems to happen on a weekend.)  We are going to work on the garden, make a new pen for our pygmy goat , clean and bake!
3 - In the Garden - More tomatoes have shown up on the vines, we have peppers planted (jalapeno, hot banana, mild banana, pepperoncini), cucumbers, satsumas, apples, grapes, potatoes, pears, and blackberries.  I'm hoping to get my cutting flowers planted this weekend, as long as it doesn't rain.  Literally - Lord willin' and the creeks DON'T rise.  haha!
4 - Recipes - roast (in the oven), steaks, and chicken (all on the grill - unless it is raining), grilled yellow squash and zucchini, sweet potatoes, and some fresh fruit/veggie smoothies thrown in.  I'm trying to eat clean, again.  I feel so much better when I do.
5 - Made Me Smile - (and cry - I'm forewarning you...)

Now for some random faves that I found this week:

This great gardening site...it's chock-full of tips, info, and great ideas for your garden/outdoor space.  I love to be outside... I can't wait to try some of the things they've shared.

I may throw clean eating right out of the window, if someone happens to bring me one of these.  And, the little one and I may try to make this. That looks like fun!

I could sit for hours and enjoy this.

And, if this tastes as good as it looks, I could eat it everyday!

I'm diggin' these outfits (well, minus most of the shoes... I don't balance well carrying a kid and groceries in heels... it's just not my super power.).

The nurse at the pediatrician's office had her hair done in this style this past week.  It is really adorable. (The first style... the rest are cute, too, though!)

I've added this to my face cleansing routine.  Who gets acne and grey hair at the same time?!  Crazy hormones!  (It is a little expensive, but I got a lot of free stuff with the purchase so that I could justify ((maybe)) the cost.)

I don't make time to read, enough... maybe I'll find some time for a few of these?

I'd love to have a summer filled with fun stuff, like this, for the little one... she starts school this fall.  I'm one bummed mama.

So!  That sums up (kind of) what is going on in our world.  Don't forget to share what is happening in your neck of the woods....

Happy Friday, y'all!

-Heather

  2. I enjoyed your links! I found I wasn't carving out any time to read there for quite some time. Then a few months ago, I just decided I'm going to read a book the hour before I go to sleep. And that's what I do. It's much harder when you've got a little one to do that I know. Reading makes for a better writer. And I always strive for that.

    1. I agree! That is one of the reasons I would like to read more... to expand my vocabulary/writing skills. And, I love, love, love to read. I need to make time, and reading before bed would probably be the best part of the day to do so. I need to escape into a book every now and then... haha!
