Farm Dreamin'

Today, instead of doing dishes, folding laundry, and mopping floors, I did what most housewives whose family lives paycheck to paycheck does...

I searched the internet for "Plantations For Sale"....

Since we have a few extra million lying around... in my dreams... I thought it would be a good use of my time.

Wouldn't you know it?  I spent quite a while enamored with these extraordinary properties... gorgeous landscaping that flanked houses, much like those seen in movies such as Gone With the Wind...

But, then I stumbled upon this property.... it has many, many acres, but it was unique, different from the enormous houses and pristine grounds... it was my kind of farm...

After I found this farm, given the name, The Sanders Farm, I looked at my husband and said (channeling my inner Scarlett O'Hara), "Oh, Ashley!  Can we buy it?  Can we buy it please?"  And Gary looked at me like I had lost my last marble.

He just doesn't get excited about things like I do.  We are working on that.

Anyway, The Sanders Farm sits on approximately 460 acres in Barnwell County, South Carolina.

The property is beautiful and is overflowing with wildlife...

The porches look like the perfect spot to hang a porch swing and rock babies.

The sportsman in your family would definitely stay busy...

There's a target house, and tons of wild game to hunt...

The best part of it all, though... is the house...

I am in love with this entry... double doors swing open after you cross the gorgeous brick landing.

The sitting areas are lovely, but let's be honest - that dressing room tops the list at amazing!

and... that kitchen.  I could spend hours baking for my family there....

This property is impressive, to say the least.  Now, if I can just convince Ol' Ashley to sell everything we own and go head over heels in debt....  sigh...

Go search for plantations, like you have nothing else to do....

It's good for the soul, y'all!

  3. I can see why you fell in love with it. The architecture is AMAZING, and the back porch is absolutely perfect (wide AND deep). I love the large island in the kitchen also.
