Knee Deep in Nectarines...

When you are canning, nectarines go farther than you think....

Take my word for it...

..When you're standing at the tree, and it's branches are hanging low from the weight of the fruit, and you're imagining yourself donning a vintage apron, singing old fashioned hymns, making jams, jellies, pie fillings, and fruit syrup....

Resist the urge to pick everything in sight...
I wish I had.

I decided to take a break from canning the nectarines, and went out to tend to the garden... the tomato plants are getting full... looks like that's next on the list.

Can you believe we still have hummingbirds?  In the Texas heat.... those little things are troopers!

Our happy, happy fern, tucked into an old crate....

Zinnias are opening... one at a time... I'm so antsy to see all of their color.

and, the petunias and marigolds are still going strong...

Okay, garden all tended to... back to the canning I go!

Have a wonderful weekend!

    1. You know me... I'm all about bright colors... Lol! Those petunias & marigolds were from the Feed Store... Mom sent them home with me, because she was sure they were dead, and didn't want them in the garden section (they were really rough looking)... we planted them in that big pot by the front door, and they are the best petunias and marigolds I've ever had.... who would have known?
