Come on Spring!

Chin up, buttercup... spring is just around the corner!

I'm just like a kid... love to be outside in flip flops (or barefoot - eeek!), play in the dirt, plant flowers, veggies, etc., and play with my little one.

She and I will lay on the grass and stare up at the sky...

We turn the chickens out of their yard, and watch them, busy at work...

Then, after "working" hard, we come inside and enjoy a glass of fresh squeezed lemonade... in a mason jar, of course!

We can even take trips to the beach (in Texas) during spring.  We aren't as gutsy as the spring break crowd - we don't put on a swimsuit and go all the way in the water, but we put our feet in...

Aaaaah... I long for sand between my toes!

The medley of colors in the flowers that bloom...
The sound of a flag flapping in the wind...
Or a kite being carried in the currents above.

Barefoot babies....

Skillet Apple Pie a la mode...

These are just a few reasons I long for spring...

What are your favorite things about spring?!

  2. I am so with you, Heather! Spring has been teasing us! I do love the winter and am so thankful for the season changes, but this girl is ready for the warm spring breeze to stay!

    1. I knew better, but a couple of weeks ago, when we were having beautiful spring weather, I planted a new hydrangia bush.... I knew after I did that, it was sure to freeze again. We've had 4 snows this year, and one big ice event.... That never happens in Texas! Oh, well... I'm dreaming. Ha! Maybe I should just trust that God knows what we need. I know He heard me grumble about the high temps last summer. He probably wishes I'd just make up my mind... lol!
